Student Housing

Students living on the campus of Mission University are offered the opportunity to not only be involved in the academic atmosphere, but are also able to engage in various resident life activities by living in on-campus housing.

Dormitories

As an incoming or returning single student, Mission U offers housing in our residence halls. Each room assignment is made for 2-3 occupants; however, single-occupant rooms are available upon request for upperclassmen and are subject to an additional semester fee. Single-occupant rooms are limited to availability. Residential Halls are managed by the Student Life Department.

Donnelson is our male dorm with 4 floors and houses up to 3 per room. Each room includes 3 beds with Tempur-Pedic mattresses, 1 wall of shared closet space, 3 4-drawer dressers, 1 shared 4×6’ table, and 2 chairs. Each floor has a Resident Assistant on duty for any of our students’ needs. Laundry facilities are also provided on the 1st floor and are available at no cost to our students.

The Florida Room is located on the 2nd floor of Donnelson Dorm and provides a great space for our male students to hangout, watch TV, and play games.

Vick is our female dorm with 3 floors and houses up to 3 per room. Each room includes 4 beds with Tempur-Pedic mattresses, 4 closet spaces, 16 drawers, 1 shared 4×6‘table, 2 chairs, a ladder, and a window A/C unit. Each floor has a Resident Assistant on duty for any of our students’ needs. Laundry facilities are also provided at the basement level and are available at no cost to our students.

The Lounge is located on the 1st floor of Vick Dorm. This space is a beautiful area provided for the female students to come together for the purpose of TV viewing, social interaction, reading, and playing games.

Honor Dormitories

Honor dormitories at Mission University are offered to select students that apply and meet dean criteria based on hours completed, GPA, deportment, and building availability. This on-campus living option is a studio style apartment. Each apartment is unfurnished and includes a full kitchen and appliances, a full bath with shower, and 2 closets. Honor dormitories are furnished with a bed and dresser. Resident is responsible to provide their own window A/C unit.

Internet access (Wi-Fi) and laundry are free to all honor dorm residents. Laundry facilities are located at the center of each floor. 

Apartments

On-campus one-bedroom apartments are a great benefit to single students aged 22 or older and married students. Apartment housing is managed by the Student Life Department and the Facilities Director who can be reached at (417) 268-6017 or cwilliams@mission.edu. Campus apartments are not furnished with window A/C units, beds, or dressers.

One-Bedroom apartments are located in A and B Buildings. The 1-bedroom apartments are available both to married students as well as single students (who meet off-campus eligibility– see below) at single or double occupancy. Each apartment is unfurnished and includes a full kitchen and appliances, a full bath with shower, a walk-in closet, a linen closet, and internet access. Laundry facilities are also provided at the center of each floor and are available at no cost to our students.

Our Home Town

Springfield, Missouri

Mission University finds its home in Springfield, Missouri, a charming city full of one-of-a-kind attractions, historical treasures, entertaining sports, and a lively culture right on Route 66. Mission U is less than 4 miles from Downtown where one would find unique coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, and the Springfield famous, Hurt’s Donuts. While in Springfield, don’t forget to catch a Springfield Cardinals game in Hammon’s Stadium or visit the home of Bass Pro Shops! The locals never take for granted picking up a Jackhammer Concrete from Andy’s Frozen Custard located 2 miles down the road from Mission U or spending time at the Farmer’s markets Saturday mornings before trailing to the nearest seasonal festival. With ample coffee shops, hole-in-the-wall cuisine, and shopping selections there is never a dull moment in the home of Mission University.
