Accreditation

Mission University is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and nationally accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE). Our education programs are approved by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (MO-DESE). Mission University is also a certified training center for the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) and the International Association of Biblical Counseling (IABC).

Mission University is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association (HLC). Mission University has successfully maintained continuous regional accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission since 2005.

About the Higher Learning Commission
The Higher Learning Commission accredits approximately 1,000 colleges and universities that have a home base in one of 19 states that stretch from West Virginia to Arizona. HLC is a private, nonprofit regional accrediting agency. HLC’s mission is to assure and advance the quality of higher learning. It is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. The institutions HLC accredits include public, private not-for- profit, and proprietary institutions at degree levels from the associate’s through the doctoral degree level and from small, specialized institutions through large research universities.

Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) Accreditation

The Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) Commission on Accreditation is an institutional accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Mission U has successfully maintained continuous national accreditation with the Association for Biblical Higher Education since 1978. The Seminary (formally known as the Graduate School) has been included in that accreditation since 2007.

Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Approval for Education Programs

The Missouri State Board of Education granted approval to Mission University to offer professional education programs. Missouri’s Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) initiated new certification requirements for all Missouri Education Preparation Programs (EPP’s) effective August, 2017. On August 17, 2017, the College received formal re-approval for its education program and all areas offered based upon the new certification requirements. Continuing approval for these programs is contingent upon the Annual Performance Report (APR) for Education Preparation Programs.

Veterans Education and Training Section for Missouri Approved Institution
Mission University (Mission U) has been approved by the office of Veterans Education and Training Section, which is the State Approving Agency (SAA) for Missouri and is located in Jefferson City with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The Missouri SAA is responsible for approving GI Bill® programs in Missouri for veterans and other eligible individuals.
