Mission University is among the most affordable, nationally accredited private Christian educational institutions in the United States. A Mission University education is a wise investment in your future. This information will help you determine the costs of attending Mission U and the financial aid available to each student.
For resident students, the traditional academic year runs from July 1st to June 30th of the following year.
For online students, the academic year consists of three terms (Fall, Spring, and Summer).

Tuition & Student Fees
The undergraduate student fee includes library, technology, student life, security, and vehicle registration fees. However, it does not include course/lab fees. The course schedule lists the online fee and specific course/lab fees. Students have access to the course schedule in advance of registration.
How is COST OF ATTENDANCE (COA) used?
The Cost of Attendance (COA) plays two major roles in determining the type and amount of financial aid you are awarded.
First, the Cost of Attendance (COA) is used to determine your financial need. For financial aid purposes, financial need is determined by subtracting your Student Aid Index (SAI) as determined on the FAFSA from your Cost of Attendance (COA). Financial need is how we determine your eligibility for need-based funds like Pell Grants, Access Missouri, Direct Subsidized Loans, Federal Work Study, and selected others.
Second, the Cost of Attendance (COA) serves as the ceiling on how much financial aid you are eligible to be awarded. Federal regulations require that a student’s award package not exceed Cost of Attendance (COA). For this reason, when we are developing your Cost of Attendance (COA) we want to make sure it is as comprehensive but accurate as possible.
What contributes to the Cost of Attendance (COA)?
The Cost of Attendance (COA) is comprised of various components, including:
- Tuition & Fees
- Housing & Meals
- Books, Course Materials, Supplies, and Equipment
- Transportation
- Personal Expenses
- Direct Loan Fees
Again, averages are used when calculating the Cost of Attendance (COA) and for this reason not all categories apply the same way to all students. For example, a student who chooses not to borrow Direct Student Loans will not have the associated loan origination fees. However, this component must be included in every student’s Cost of Attendance (COA) for consistency and to remain in compliance with Department of Education regulations.

As previously mentioned, we establish different Cost of Attendance (COA) groups based on broad categories of student. Below are breakdowns of common groups to illustrate how your 2026-2027 Academic Year COA is calculated.
Undergraduate Tuition

1-11 credit hours- $680 per credit hour

Payment Plans & Fees

- $100 payment plan fee will be assessed for each semester.
- $100 course withdraw fee for any dropped on-campus course
- Individuals failing to pay by the end of the semester are restricted from further use of the payment plan until all prior obligations are met. Additionally, I may not be permitted to register for classes for a subsequent semester, to be awarded grades, to receive official transcripts or to participate in graduations.
- Insufficient Funds Fee: $30.00 per incident
- Late Payment Fee: $35.00 per incident
- Late Payment Interest Charge: If at any time a payment is more than 7 days late, there will be a 3% monthly interest charge on the remaining balance for the remainder of the payment plan.
- Convenience Fee: There will be a 2.5% convenience fee charged on all debit/credit card payments.

- International students are responsible for all currency conversion and transaction fees incurred on all debit/credit card payments (fees may vary).
Account Payment Information & Policies
All charges (tuition, fees, housing & meals) will be due on August 19, 2026 for the Fall Semester and January 22, 2027 for the Spring Semester.
- Partnership program fees: SBU/Drury: $2,000 per semester. OTC/IWU/SBU/Drury: $35 per credit hour
- Student accounts that have a remaining balance from a previous semester must be paid in full before beginning any future semester.
- $100 course withdraw fee for any dropped on-campus and online course.
- All charges (tuition, fees, housing & meals) will be due on August 19, 2026, for the Fall Semester and January 22, 2027, for the Spring Semester.
- Any student account with a remaining balance that cannot be paid by the dates above must be placed on a payment plan. Payment plans will be by semester (Fall: Aug-Dec) (Spring: Jan-April). Other payment plan arrangements must be approved by the Finance Department.
- Any withdrawal or dismissal after August 19, 2026, for the Fall Semester and January 22, 2027, for the Spring Semester will result in all charges (including Housing & Meals) being assessed to the student account (no refunds/credits).
- If a student transitions from the traditional program to the online program, they must have their balance paid in full before starting the next term.
- Mission University encourages you to make all payments for your payment plan by EFT or Credit Card (through Populi). All payments will be due on the 20th of each month for the payment plan’s duration. A $100 payment plan fee will be assessed for each semester. Any payment returned for insufficient funds will be assessed as a $30 service fee.
- There will be a $30 past due payment fee for each late payment. If at any time a payment is more than 7 days late, there will be a 3% monthly interest charge on the remaining balance for the remainder of the payment plan.
- There will be a 2.5% convenience fee charged on all debit/credit card payments.
Books
Students seeking to purchase textbooks with available financial aid should contact brains@mission.edu. Only students with available aid remaining after tuition, student fees, and housing & food charges have been paid may request textbook charges to be applied to their account.
