Core Curriculum

Mission Statement

The mission of Mission University’s Core Curriculum (CC) is to provide students a Bible-based, Christ-centered education with opportunities for intellectual and spiritual growth designed to equip them with the skills and cultural literacy necessary to formulate a biblical worldview to prepare them to be Christian leaders in their churches and communities.

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

Upon completion of the Core Curriculum, students will be able to:

1. Identify the basic contents of the Bible, explain the fundamental doctrines of Christianity with Baptist distinctives, and articulate the process of spiritual formation in their lives. (Biblical Foundation)ILO1, ILO2
2. Properly interpret biblical texts viewed in their historical and grammatical context. (Exegetical Competence)ILO1

The Assessment Plan is a listing of student work that will be used to assess achievement of each PLO.

Assessment Schedule

The Assessment Schedule is a five-year schedule that indicates when each PLO will be assessed and when the Academic Program Review (APR) will occur.

Assessment Results (PLO Outcomes Data)

The Assessment Results is a document that lists the benchmarks and cumulative summative assessment scores for each individual PLO based upon the Assessment Plan. Data reflect findings from the most recent Academic Program Review (APR), which occurs every five years.
