Core Curriculum
Mission Statement
The mission of Mission University’s Core Curriculum (CC) is to provide students a Bible-based, Christ-centered education with opportunities for intellectual and spiritual growth designed to equip them with the skills and cultural literacy necessary to formulate a biblical worldview to prepare them to be Christian leaders in their churches and communities.
Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)
Upon completion of the Core Curriculum, students will be able to:
| 1. Identify the basic contents of the Bible, explain the fundamental doctrines of Christianity with Baptist | ILO1, ILO2 |
| 2. Properly interpret biblical texts viewed in their historical and grammatical context. (Exegetical Competence) | ILO1 |
| 3. Demonstrate an informed understanding of cultural diversity with ability to defend the Christian faith amongst various world religions. (Intercultural Engagement) | ILO3 |
| 4. Deliver well-organized, substantive oral presentations, which utilize effective verbal and non-verbal skills and are consistent with biblical truth. (Oral Communication) | ILO1 |
| 5. Demonstrate proper written communication skills composing writing that is clear, substantive, properly structured, grammatically correct, and consistent with biblical truth. (Written Communication) | ILO1 |

Curriculum Map
At the Introductory, Developing, and Mastery levels, the Curriculum Map shows which courses in the degree program are responsible to intentionally address each PLO.
Assessment Plan
The Assessment Plan is a listing of student work that will be used to assess achievement of each PLO.
Assessment Schedule
The Assessment Schedule is a five-year schedule that indicates when each PLO will be assessed and when the Academic Program Review (APR) will occur.
Assessment Results (PLO Outcomes Data)
The Assessment Results is a document that lists the benchmarks and cumulative summative assessment scores for each individual PLO based upon the Assessment Plan. Data reflect findings from the most recent Academic Program Review (APR), which occurs every five years.
