Upon completion of the Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies, students will be able to:

1. Articulate a knowledge of biblical texts and a clear explanation of systematic theology consistent with Baptist distinctives. (ILO 1)

The mission of the Biblical Studies program is to equip its graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary in order to prepare them for a life of vocational or lay service as a leader in the local church or parachurch organization and to provide a foundation for further education.

Jon Slayden

Jon graduated from Mission University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Youth Ministries and graduated from Baptist Bible Theological Seminary in 2016 with a Master of Arts in Church Ministry. Jon has more than 20 years of experience leading and serving in ministry. He is currently the Lead Pastor of Hope Community Church in Midland, Texas.
