Master of Arts: Biblical Counseling

The mission of the Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling is to prepare students who will counsel as a primary responsibility of ministry in the local church, chaplaincy, college campus, high school, grade school, counseling ministry, or other Christian ministries.

This degree is also intended for students who will counsel as a supporting responsibility of ministry in the local church, the home, or secular environment. Students who successfully complete the 45-hour degree program also complete all the requirements necessary to apply for certification with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC).

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

1. Articulate a biblical position on theological doctrines from an exegetical, systematic, and literal-historical-grammatical method of biblical interpretation consistent with Baptist distinctives.ILO1

3. Disciple, counsel, and care for individuals and families using biblical principles in the context of the local church.ILO3

The Assessment Schedule is a five-year schedule that indicates when each PLO will be assessed and when the Academic Program Review (APR) will occur.

Assessment Results (PLO Outcomes Data)

The Assessment Results is a document which lists the benchmarks and cumulative summative assessment scores for each individual PLO based upon the Assessment Plan. Data reflect findings from the most recent Academic Program Review (APR), which occurs every five years.
